Our Purpose and Vision
Purpose and Vision- Provide leadership to increase, encourage and inspire effective charitable giving for the benefit of 4S Ranch and the surrounding communities.
- Build an endowment to benefit individuals, organizations and businesses in 4S Ranch and the surrounding communities now and forever
- Provide grants and scholarships to organizations and individuals in 4S Ranch and the surrounding communities
- Provide The San Diego Foundation (TSDF) with information about the needs and resources of 4S Ranch and the surrounding communities.
- Businesses can become members by making a donation of at least $1,000;
- Individuals can become members by making a donation of at least $250
- The first 50 members who commit the minimum donation per year for three years will be designated "founders"
- Half of the money will immediately go into annual grant making
- Half will go into a permanent endowment
- All members will vote each year for the local grant applications they deem most worthy and most needed
Goals:
Short Term
- Recruit at least 50 Founding members
- Raise at least $80,000
- By 2012 create a $1 million endowment that will benefit the community now and forever
- By 2012 provide at least $50,000 per year to benefit organizations and individuals in 4S Ranch and the surrounding communities
- Boys and Girls Club
- Scholarships for students
- Schools
- Library
- Public Safety Programs
- After school and summer programs
- 46 members; 37 of which are Founders
- 3 year commitments an contributions of over $66,000
- Built an endowment fund of ~$17,500
- In June 2008 grantedd out $12k to two local organizations focusing on Youth Education/Youth Services
- In June 2009 granted $8,500 to Civic Engagement Projects
